Faculty Yoga Study in Pune, India

Yoga Garden of San Francisco teachers Octavia Morgan and Osha Hanfling are currently studying at the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India. Yoga Garden of San Francisco teacher Todd Semo and substitute David Sirgany have just returned from there. Teachers Brian Hogencamp and Janet Um are planning for their 10-week departure in mid-December. Less than a year ago, Ana Krombholtz, Dave Nelson, Janet, Brian, Todd and others all travelled to Pune to study yoga with Geeta and B.K.S. Iyengar on the occassion of Geeta's birthday.

What's the big deal? Why do teachers travel half-way around the world to take a few yoga classes? What is it like in Pune?
