Received from Osha December 3:
Leaving Pune, my quiet structured life, my eight block radius seemed hard to do. Chris arrived and whatever calm I had cultivated was gone. All of a sudden too many things undone, too many not redone. Just one more Mungala (our cook) meal with left side lying and nap, one more class one more practice.

India with its two faces things you love one day you don't the next. It reminds me of the Fantastics and the song about the mask. I was ready to leave for home. We set off for Aurangabad by bus comfortable and complete with a very long Indian movie. They seem to include cody action violence and musical numbers in all films. Went to Allora caves, 32 caves carved out of the rock–some Hindu, Jain and Buddhist. Remarkable feat. Mostly we are the only non-Indians around so we are the main target–please look buy– they are relentless. On to this massive fort complete with moat and drawbridge with a veiw and a sunset that was unforgettable. The area looked like Utah. Off to dinner and to see the looms where they weave beautiful pashmina scarves etc.– another great sell. The next day off to the Ajunta caves. I messed up our schedule so we had to get a driver for the 2 hour drive to Ajunta.
