San Francisco Waldorf School – Early Childhood Program

by Marisa Toriggino

San Francisco Waldorf School – Early Childhood Program.

The Early Parenting (birth to age 3) program at the SF Waldorf school has just started their enrollment for the fall 2010.  I took these classes for 5 years-through both of my children’s early years.  It has informed my life as a parent.   I found the information in the classes to be helpful, supportive, intelligent, philosophical and heart centered–really it is yoga but with more practical applications for everyday life-such as why would I want to dress my child warmly?  what are the effects of television?  how much should I be talking to my newborn?  what are some of the parameters for sleep training an infant?  If you feel like you might be interested please look into it.  I know your children will benefit from it and love it!

Allison was not the director when I was taking classes, but I know her and I think she is top notch.

Email: “… favorite parts of being pregnant”

I cannot tell you how much fun I had at yoga today. Prenatal yoga was one of my absolute favorite parts of being pregnant – the community I found there was amazing and I truly cherished it. I was so excited to come today and it was even better than I had hoped. It was so good to see you and Jillian and Erin again, I felt like I was coming home. Thank you for having all the wonderful pre and post natal classes – they really offer us a lot.

When Corte Madera’s Restoration Hardware revamped its look last year, designers and consumers alike instantly took note. After previewing the collection, Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan, the founder of design blog Apartment Therapy, posted that “the store is virtually unrecognizable from what it was.”

In his opinion, that was a good thing. A company that was perhaps best known for its towels and drawer pulls was rebranding itself with furniture heavily influenced by antiques and European design: The Versailles chair stands out with its dramatic dome, the Sealight floor lamp resembles something 19th century British sailors may have seen and the mirrors are a nod to classic architectural windows.
