CORE MODULE 3: 3-Week Extended

Stunning+yoga+photography-+Heather+Neilson+PhotographyDrawing from the knowledge and experiences learned Core Modules 1 and 2, students put their skills to the test. Refine classroom presence. Explore innovative sequencing concepts. Application of themes from Sutras, Hatha, Tantra. Practice and mentor feedback on sequencing assignments. This module, taught by Jen Hecht, has a focus on practical yoga therapy. A magnifying approach will be taken to look at common misalignment and ailments while practicing yoga and how to address them through a therapeutic application. Learn how to see and support your students.

Schedule:

August 23 – September 12, 2015

  • Sat:  12:00 – 6:00 pm
  • Sun:  12:30 pm – 5:30 pm
  • Tues & Fri:  6:30– 9:30pm

Required Reading:

  • The Upanishads by Eknath Easwaran
  • The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (your favorite translation)
  • Shiva Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, or other inspirational text of your choice

 

  *Must have completed Core Modules 1 and 2 OR have taught a minimum of 500 hours, have a good understanding of the Yoga Sutras, Gunas, Doshas and the Prana Vayus. Students who have not completed Core Modules 1 and 2 will be required to have an entrance interview with the program director or lead instructor of this module.

About Jen Hecht:

 Jen is an E-RYT 500 certified yoga teacher who has always had a connection to the exploration of movement and the expression of her heart. She has been studying movement and yoga for the majority of her life and has been teaching since 2001. Her teaching style offers clear, precise alignment that is playful as well as soulful.

 
Jen has found that yoga is an offering and support in creating a remembrance of who we really are by connecting the physical, mental, and emotional being. In this place, there is an opportunity to feel the tangibility of our essence and offer this back in our day to day living. She has recently been studying Craniosacral Therapy under the Upledger Institute and is excited to further her studies in this direction. Come ready to play and find a deeper connection to your heart.
