Parenting Classes: Birth Education

Childbirth and Very Early Parenting

Angelika Nugent

Six Mondays (12 hours)
March 10 – April 14, 7:00–9:00 pm

Through presentation, discussion, and experiential methodology, Angelika Nugent will lead dialog in these topics:

Prenatal education: the physiology of pregnancy;changes in physical and emotional needs; changing relationships; remedies and trouble shooting for adverse changes.

Childbirth education overview: the physiology of childbirth; childbirth options; Pros and cons of pain medication; comfort measures in labor; why it is called labor?

Early Parenting: Infant care; physiology of the newborn child; diapering; bathing; dressing; circumcision; vaccines; breastfeeding; troubleshooting, tricks of the trade and self-help.

Tuition: Cost of the program is $230 for six two-hour sessions. The cost covers attendance of two parents. A limited number of tuition grants are available, based on financial need. Contact Marisa at Yoga Garden of San Francisco to apply for financial aid. Tuition is not refundable after 72 hours before the start of the first class.
