Alison Ticker
200 Hour Graduate
Class of February 2013, Immersion
“I really enjoyed training and got so much value from it. I’m really excited to see where this will take me. As I think you’ve seen on FB, Pomme, Nicole, Mary and I are teaching a donation based class on Mondays at noon at Om Power. The first one is actually going on right now! We’ll be rotating teachers every week. I’m also going to start teaching twice a week at Empower Gym. I’ll be teaching the Monday and Wednesday classes at 5:30, starting either this Wednesday or the following Monday. The gym is only 3 blocks from my office, so I couldn’t ask for something more convenient! Thanks for everything.”

Advice for students looking into Teacher Training: Talk to the people who will be instructing you before you commit. Try to get a reference of a past graduate, ask them if they felt prepared to teach after the training. Get trained in the yoga style you enjoy doing. David and Sonya took the time to talk to me and answer all my questions. They were much more responsive and helpful than any other studio I talked to. The style of the program- the blend of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Iyengar really appealed to me, as did the diverse experiences and teaching styles of all the instructors.
