Free Introduction to Yoga
This class is for students who have never taken a yoga class before, or who are interested in learning about how we teach yoga at YGSF. If you are too stiff or tight to join a regular class — this is place to start. Advanced registration is required, because we keep our classes small. We provide everything you need — just wear comfortable clothing — a tee-shirt and shorts are best–and show up!

Introductory Series
Beginning students are welcome in all Ageless, Level 1 and Gentle classes, including mixed-level classes, such as Level 1-2. Detailed instructions are given in these classes for basic practice and modifications are given for all needs.
We have been offering Yoga 101 since 1998 and have introduced thousands of students to the practice. Yoga 101 is artfully crafted to bring complete beginners to a solid beginning practice.
We provide all props (mats, straps, etc.,). You do not need to bring any supplies. Wear comfortable clothing, such as a t-shirt and shorts, and plan to practice bare-footed. Try not to eat heavily before class. Plan on having fun, learning, and moving your body.

Yoga 101
Yoga 101 is an introduction to yoga for complete beginners. It is a progressive series that meets weekly for four consecutive weeks. The cost of this series is $40. Please reserve your space so that we know how many students to expect. During the class you will learn basic poses, how to practice yoga, and relaxation techniques. You will practice in the supportive community of other beginners with an experienced teacher. Each class repeats what was learned the week before and adds progressive instruction, so that you can feel confident that you are safely practicing in our regularly-scheduled classes.
