Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga at Yoga Garden SF

View the Ashtanga Yoga schedule here.

Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga taught by the late Sri. K Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. It is a breathing/movement system that follows a therapeutic and progressive sequence of asanas. Students learn a systematic technique that steadies, balances, purifies, and strengthens the body, mind, and nervous system. We teach the Primary (1st) Series, which is a series of yoga asana (poses) linked together with vinyasa (entries and exits, or movements) that are synchronized with the breath.

Classes are appropriate for students in good health of any ability, particularly beginners.
