EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: Yoga for Teens Teacher Training

Register for the upcoming Yoga for Teens Teacher Training before March 31st and save $80 on tuition. This training is a comprehensive certification in yoga for teens. This training offers yoga as a transformative life practice for teens that fosters physical, mental, emotional, and social development through yoga practices and principles.

It is suitable for yoga teachers, school teachers, social workers, therapists, parents, and anyone who would like to make a difference in the lives of youth through the practices and teachings of yoga. While the training includes guidance on teaching teens in various settings, it emphasizes teaching yoga in the school setting.

 

In this training you will learn how to:

  • Adapt yoga, breathing, and meditation techniques to the teen population.
  • Teach yoga in the school setting.
  • Teach the ethical principles of yoga in teen language.
  • Work with at-risk and underserved populations.
  • Teach teen relevant topics such as anger, forgiveness, self-confidence, and sexual health.
  • Teach basic nutrition and the yoga of eating.
  • Incorporate play and laughter into the teen yoga class.
  • Help teens understand and cultivate mindfulness in daily life
  • Cultivate community, trust, and connection with teens.
  • Structure and develop a teen yoga class.
  • Inspire teens to be ambassadors of peace in the world through selfless service.

Erin Lila Wilson in circle-01Erin Lila Wilson, E- RYT, received her beginning and intermediate teacher certification through Integral Yoga, and completed training for teaching at-risk teens through the Lineage Project. She has worked with youth for over ten years, teaching yoga to inner-city teenagers, including yoga and meditation to hundreds of youth in schools, studios, and incarceration facilities.  

She moved to San Francisco in January of 2012, where she now serves as the Executive Director of RISE Yoga for Youth.  She is eager to build a community of yoga teachers dedicated to teaching youth and she hopes to weave yoga into mainstream education across the country. Her dream is to help build a better world by making yoga accessible to as many teens as possible.
