Chris Punongbayan is a yoga and meditation teacher based in San Francisco, the unceded territory of the Ohlone Native American people. He draws inspiration from all of the diverse peacemakers striving to make the world fairer and more just. Chris has been practicing yoga on and off since 1995. But it wasn’t until 25 years after stepping on the mat for the first time – during the pandemic and racial reckoning of 2020 – that he discovered the transformative power of these practices to bring equanimity.
Striving to honor the roots of yoga, Chris’ classes often include postures, meditation, breathwork, and philosophy. He hopes to guide you to a more unified sense of self so that you can take these experiences when you go back out into the world.
Chris completed his 200- Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Tree in 2016, and began teaching in 2020. Currently, he is in the process of wrapping up his 300- Hour YTT with Janet Stone Yoga. He is also enrolled in the Mindfulness for Lawyers Teacher Training program with Warrior One.
