300 Hour Core Module on Advanced Philosophy & Contemplative Practices with Karen Macklin
30 HOURS (24 IN CLASS + 6 INDEPENDENT)
This module (virtual via zoom) focuses on studying yoga philosophy, and centers on developing a deeper understanding of how to live and breathe yoga in your daily life. The central texts studied in this course are Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, which includes the Eight Limbs of Yoga (Ashtanga), and the Buddha’s Eightfold Path, which includes the Four Foundations of Mindfulness.
Topics covered in this course include the examination of yoga in connection with ethical responsibility, mindfulness and concentration practices, appropriate livelihood, social justice, working with trauma, developing compassionate relationships, and acting from a place of discernment in our practices and lives.

Drop-in participants are required to hold a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate, or have some equivalent of yoga teaching experience to enroll.
300 Hour Program:
Completion of this 30 hour module will apply to the 300 hours required by Yoga Alliance for your 300-hour Advanced certification; 30 CEUs. Core modules can be taken in any order. Students may re-take any of the Core Modules for full credit at a slightly reduced rate.
