7-Day Intensive Training in Florence, Italy

October 7 - October 13

Yoga Garden SF hosts a 7-Day Yoga Retreat & Training Intensive with Marisa Toriggino in Florence, Italy. This urban retreat is the perfect opportunity to advance your yoga practice while exploring the splendor of one of the most beautiful and iconic cities in Europe.

All classes will be taught at L’atelier de Danse, located in Piazza San Lorenzo in the heart of Florence – only a few blocks from Il Duomo di Firenze! Students will be able to enjoy the city of Florence with a supportive structure of one thorough alignment-based class in the morning and one deep pranayama practice in the evening.

Although designed so that the 25 hours may be applied for those receiving their 300-hour teaching certification, non-teachers with a strong background in yoga are welcome. From the Duomo to Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture, and from Ponte Vecchio to Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus”, Florence offers visitors the chance to experience some of the most iconic Renaissance masterpieces. This course has been constructed to allow students plenty of time to explore the art, architecture, cafés, restaurants, and other splendors of the Tuscany region’s capital city.

If you’d like to take this opportunity to explore a world-renowned destination while deepening your yoga practice with a phenomenal teacher and practitioner, please see below for more details.

If you have further questions, you may reach out to our Enrollment Manager [email protected].

This intensive amounts to 25 hours of training, applicable towards the 300-hour certificate at Yoga Garden SF.

Daily asana classes will focus on alignment-based yoga. We will start each day with a 1.5 hour intermediate/advanced practice followed by a 1 hour practice focusing on individualized areas of study chosen by each student.

Classes will be closely tailored to students’ individual needs and interests, including (for example) deepening ones inversion practice, how to build a home practice for busy people, advanced study on how to teach pregnant and postpartum women, yoga for breast care, and more.

We will end each day with a pranayama class. Lessons will begin by focusing on reclining Viloma 1 and Ujjayi, and expand to include seated Viloma 1 and Ujjayi by the end of the week.

    • Asana practice in the morning for 2.5 hours
      11:00-1:30 Monday – Friday / 12:00-2:30 Saturday and Sunday
