Florence Italy Retreat! 7-Day Yoga Intensive & Training
October 8 - October 14
with Marisa Toriggino
Continue your yoga practice and explore the splendor of one of Europe’s most beautiful and iconic cities with Yoga Garden’s 7-Day Italy Yoga Retreat in the heart of Florence.
Enjoy Italy while practicing yoga in the morning and in the late afternoon. We designed this urban retreat so that you can easily attend 25 hours of class over the 7 days while exploring Florence and surrounding Tuscany and enjoying Italian culture and healthy food and wine!
This retreat is appropriate for all levels of yoga practitioners. Yoga teachers earn 25 hours of elective credit for Yoga Garden SF’s 300-hour teaching certification or 25 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education.
From il Duomo to Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture, from Ponte Vecchio to Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus,” Florence offers visitors the chance to experience some of the most iconic Renaissance masterpieces. This retreat is designed to give you plenty of time to explore the art, architecture, cafés, restaurants, and other splendors of the Tuscany region’s capital city.
Sunday October 8 – Saturday October 14, 2017 (25 credit hours)
All classes will be taught at Atelier de Danse located at Via Sant’Egidio 10 in the heart of Florence–only a few blocks from Il Duomo di Firenze!
Each day will start with a 1.5 hour alignment-based practice followed by a 1 hour practice focusing on individualized areas of study chosen by each student, totaling 2.5 hours each morning.
Classes will be closely tailored to students’ individual needs and interests, including (for example) deepening one’s inversion practice, building a home practice for busy people, advanced study on how to teach pregnant and postpartum women, yoga for breast care, and more.
Each day ends with a pranayama (breathwork) class.
Transportation, Lodging and Food:
The Euro is down compared to the US dollar, which means that Florence is more affordable. Food, entertainment, transportation and lodging costs are lower than they have been in years. While transportation and lodging are not included in the price of this training, we have timed the retreat to make it simple for students to find inexpensive off-season flights. You can easily fly into Florence, Pisa or Rome.
Direct into Florence, take a bus or taxi to your hotel.
Via Pisa, take a bus to the Florence SMN Train station for about €20 (this is a 45-minute bus ride) and then you can walk from the train station to your accomodations, or take a taxi from the taxi stand in front of the Florence SMN train station.
Via Rome, take the train to the Florence SMN train station and walk to where you are staying or take a taxi from the taxi stand.
Checkout Norwegian Airlines leaving from Oakland (this is a great discount airline that has very low prices, new planes and great service), and Air France leaving from SFO. You can find affordable lodging in nearby hotels or AirBnB.
The food in local Florentine restaurants, cafes and trattorias is very good and affordable everywhere. Ask any of the locals where to go and they will tell you their favorite place, but also they will tell you just go anywhere!
