Mindful Yoga – Movement and Meditation

This workshop will help you build a foundation for a mindfulness-oriented yoga practice and mindful seated meditation.

In this workshop, we will connect breath, body and mind in order to tap into a deeply meditative practice. As we move through a series of gentle hatha yoga poses, we will bring consciousness to our thought process and the various inner stories that arise.

Each movement will hold a deeper purpose, from discovering where we hold tension to observing when our mind becomes distracted. Whatever the poses bring, we will practice staying present for what arises. This is part of the challenge of yoga! Come be supported in this effort and learn techniques to stay grounded for when you practice on your own.

The workshop will include:

  • Active yoga practice
  • Restorative yoga practice
  • Seated Meditation
  • Check-in and questions

Alexandra Rossi has been practicing yoga for almost two decades and deepening her mindfulness practice for over ten years. She teaches mindfulness to both students and teachers in schools, and is currently undergoing training in MBSR.

This course provides 2 Elective Contact Hours for YGSF’s 300 Hour Program [2 Yoga Alliance┬« CEUs].
