Healing with Sound
April 2 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm
with Joanna Sullivan
Have you been craving deeper connection with yourself and your practice? Sound can help us to achieve profound connection with our inner landscape as well as the world around us. In this transformative workshop, we will learn the powerful healing capacities of Sound and Intention.
Let Joanna guide you through the basics of sound healing and intention practices so you can start incorporating techniques into your life right away.
Topics include activating vs calming sounds, specific frequencies for healing, overcoming challenges with sound, as well as the power of holding intention. We will take turns practicing using voice, bowls, and other instruments provided. Leave feeling refreshed, empowered, and curious to go deeper on the journey.
Joanna Sullivan has been motivated by music and singing from childhood. As a college student at the University of Maryland, she studied Ethnomusicology and Communication which motivated her to learn how music can be used as a tool to communicate. While traveling in India in 2010, she discovered singing bowls, mantra, and sacred syllables, and her life was forever changed. On a return trip in 2011 she dove deeper into the study, taking lessons with a teacher in McLeod Ganj. Within a year, she found herself relocating to San Francisco in 2012 to pursue certification in Sound Healing at the Globe Sound and Consciousness Institute here in the city.
She launched her business in 2014, offering one-on-one sessions on a custom built SoundTable as well as group sound meditations and cacao ceremonies, helping to improve overall balance, connectivity, and wellbeing in the community.
