Stability and Freedom: Yogic Tools for Difficult Situations and Stressful Times

Acquire yogic tools to cope with challenges and practice self care for greater well-being, strength, endurance and flexibility.
Yoga can be a great source of support when dealing with distressing experiences. Yoga instructor and artist Katrin Kuttner (E-RYT 500, MFA) sources from her own human experiences of loss and pain, and of dramatic political and social changes, that she lived through as a child in the former GDR and as a student on an art scholarship in a communist country. She knows what it means to be emotionally and physically free.
The immersive practices in this training aim to find balance if you are faced with uncertainty and chaos in body and mind. Learn how to balance invigorating with calming yoga by working with the complementary ideas of stability and freedom from moment to moment. Katrin will demonstrate actions that help to sort out mind and body in a supportive environment. Key focus is placed on tension release, applicable modification for a regular practice, and self-adjustments for the physical and spiritual body.This workshop is right for you if you feel burned out, stressed, tend to anxiety, or want to introduce more self care into your practice. Expect yoga asana, alignment, meditation, pranayama, guided and self guided practices, creative activities, light reading and discussion.

 


For Trauma-Informed/ 300-Hour Students:

For students participating in Yoga Garden’s Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training or otherwise en route to their 300-Hour certificate, there will be a 90min teaching technique class at the end of the day to review practices and answer questions.

This additional workshop segment for you focuses on observation skills and personal participation in a variety of practices to gather ideas for your work in the trauma sensitive field. This is an incredibly practical tool with the unique opportunity to synthesize theory into practical application. Sensitivity is required giving all students in this workshop space to fully participate and have their own experiences.

Please bring a yoga mat, comfortable yoga clothing, an optional change of clothes and layers. All yoga props and artistic materials will be provided.

Tuition for non-teacher trainers or students wishing to just participate in the first section of this training (12pm-7pm), Price is $180, or $155 if you enroll on or before 10/13.
