Trauma-Informed (Guest): Holding Space for Ourselves

September 14 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

In this workshop, guest teacher Kiki Williams (E-RYT 500) asks the question: How can we, as yoga teachers, hold space for ourselves? We, too, are people and bodies that have experienced trauma, whether personal and/or collective. So how do we fully care for and honor our own emotions, experiences, and processes while being in the sacred position of space-holding for others? What practices can we lean on when we may, ourselves, be struggling? How can we maintain the sacred container of a yoga class if we are in the throes of our own emotional difficulties?

Be prepared to embark on a warm and expansive exploration of these questions, and to come away with tools to help you care for and hold space for yourself, while maintaining the important seat of the teacher. This module includes seated practice, relational exercises, and discussion.
