Livestream: Trauma-Informed Teacher Training – June 2020

June 9, 2020 - June 14, 2020

UPDATE! Trauma-Informed Teacher Training will be offered fully remote and online.

The Trauma-Informed Teacher Training is an integrative 50-Hour certificate program that encompasses tools and modifications to offer an environment for empowerment through the practice of yoga*.

This training serves as an introduction to the subject and practice of Trauma-Informed Yoga.

Topics will include:

• Professional ethics and boundaries
• Symptoms of trauma
• How to craft classes that are safer and more welcoming for everyone
• The nervous system’s response stress, danger, anxiety and overwhelm
• Yoga and meditation practices that can support healing and resilience
• Trauma sensitive verbal instructions, touch and social dynamics

This Trauma-Informed Teacher Training will incorporate theory, discussion, meditations, conversational exercises and gentle asana appropriate for all bodies. The course is led by five Yoga Garden SF instructors (Max Kopeikin, Karen Macklin, Europa Grace, Alexandra Rossi and Stacey Swan) in order to cover a broader spectrum of Trauma-Informed approaches and schools of thought. Each instructor brings their own unique experience and study of the subject. No one form of Trauma-Informed yoga is centered. You can expect to come away with a broad understanding of the field and some tools, rather than deep knowledge in any one approach.

*This training does not prepare or certify people to treat or heal trauma, nor is it a therapeutic container to process personal traumas.
