Trauma-Informed YTT: Psychology, Yoga and Trauma

May 15, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - May 19, 2023 @ 8:30 pm

Psychology, Yoga and Trauma with Max Kopeikin

This module explores the intersection between Western somatic-based psychological approaches to healing trauma, and yoga-influenced approaches to healing trauma. First, you will learn about the field of trauma-informed yoga, including the different settings and professions that are part of this work. Furthermore, we will explore how to work in this field as a yoga teacher, and come to understand the importance of setting boundaries in your work as a trauma-informed teacher. Together, we’ll learn how to use yogic frameworks, such as the koshas and the gunas, to plan and sequence trauma-informed classes. Finally, this module includes a teaching lab where students plan and teach sequences, as well as an expressive arts-based experiential exercise oriented towards self-care.
