Fresh Faces in The Garden

elaineMeet Elaine!

Elaine has been a student of yoga since 2006 where she was exposed to the practice in Taiwan. Soon after her exposure she became a devotee to Ashtanga Yoga for its dynamic flow of movement, linking breath to body, and body to mind.

In addition to her Vinyasa classes, she will now be teaching Ashtanga every Friday morning from 9:30am – 11:00am. If you have wanted to try Ashtanga and haven’t been able to, this is where to start.

Ashtanga:

The postures of the Ashtanga method and their related breathings and movements (vinyasa) are counted out according to the method of the K. Pattabhi Jois’ Ashtanga Yoga Institute of Mysore, India. The teacher will provide some verbal and hands-on guidance regarding the proper execution of the postures and movements but will be mostly concerned with moving the class through the series at the proper pace. This class is suitable for those already familiar with the Primary Series and is a suitable introduction to Ashtanga method.
