Conversations with Roy: Working With Your Mind
So many times, we find ourselves being pulled in all different directions by our thoughts that we are less than happy. And even when things are going well, we still feel consumed by anxiety and stress. We spin our wheels and feel like we are being controlled and overrun by something we can’t quite put our finger on.
In “Conversations with Roy: Working With Your Mind” we will work with the mind that always seems to be distracted and quick to mediate experiences with labels and judgments of likes and dislikes, pleasant and unpleasant, pain and pleasure. In this weekly meet, we will also discuss the tools and practices of meditation, inquiry, and investigation and how to practically incorporate them into our daily lives to unlearn what is inefficient and does not work. With practice also comes insight. We start to uncover what is already our intrinsic ability to be undistracted, equanimous, happy, fulfilled, and successful.
The mind is the basis in which we experience our lives and also the basis in which we make decisions and interact, and so it makes sense to want to look it, examine it and see where the source of our experience is.
Participants are welcomed to fully interact and have a conversation with Roy. They can also ask any questions they may have regarding their personal situations. A guided meditation practice may be incorporated.
