MOXIE Yoga and Yoga Garden SF are merging on March 1, 2022 to form a new company dedicated to serving their community by offering mindful, physical practices and professional education programs.

David Nelson, Founder of Yoga Garden SF, shares, “When we opened our first studio in 1998 in the Castro district, our mission was to share how a consistent, disciplined, physical, and mindful practice could improve our lives and have a positive impact on our relationship with the world around us. We are in this business because we believe it makes life better for everyone.”

Together, the company offers seven locations throughout San Francisco including NOPA/Lower Haight, the Mission, Nob Hill, Noe Valley, Inner Sunset, Bernal Heights, and Inner Richmond neighborhoods. “These seven locations are vital social wellness spaces for thousands of San Franciscans,” says Nelson.

Offerings continue to include classes, workshops, and professional training via in-person, livestream, and on-demand settings. The merger allows for more class styles and class times as well as expanded employment opportunities for instructors. Tanya Clark, Owner and Partner of MOXIE Yoga comments, “I am so thrilled about this merger and the opportunity to grow and diversify our yoga community! This is an opportunity for two entities with the same mission to unify and commit to bringing students the best yoga experience in SF.”

Mark Rausa, Owner and Founding Partner of MOXIE Yoga and former Yoga Garden instructor, remarks, “I could not be more excited for the future of yoga and fitness in San Francisco. By combining our resources and merging our studios, we are establishing a more robust model that will revive the yoga and boutique fitness culture in San Francisco. This has been an incredibly difficult two years, but this silver lining ensures that we, the San Francisco yoga community, will thrive.”

Starting March 1, external company communications will be consolidated through Yoga Garden SF. We will continue to communicate through Yoga Garden channels, primarily email and Instagram, until a new cohesive identity is developed.
